Hey Awesome Peeps!
I chose this book for my first review since I just finished it a few nights ago. Please note that there might be spoilers in my review without me even noticing, but I will do my best to hide the obvious spoilers. Consider yourself warned, ha ha. Since this is the first review on my blog, I will explain how I will write my reviews. First, there will be a description of the book (from goodreads) to let you know the back story, and then my review will be at the bottom. Please criticize/comment my reviews, or any of my work by leaving a comment it helps a lot. You can also subscribe to future posts at the bottom left of my website page, and you can also see the book I am currently reading at the bottom right.
A warrior prince, a talented spy. A quest to free an enslaved people begins.
Crown Prince Aven Lanuken wants something more than a trophy for a future wife. He wants a woman who will be more friend than follower. A queen who will be more warrior than diplomat. He wants a partner he can trust… with a dangerous secret that’s kept him trapped in a dark mountain fortress his entire life.
Mage slave Miara wants something more, too—to find an enemy prince. And not to marry him. She’s just received orders for her very first kidnapping. She loathes the idea of it, and it’s probably a suicide mission. But she has never failed a mission before and doesn’t intend to start now.
Of all the women in the world, why does he have to fall for the one trying to kill him?
Magic, politics, love, and fate collide in the destinies of two people in this fantasy adventure from R. K. Thorne. For lovers of swords and sorcery with a side of romance, Mage Slave is the first novel in the Enslaved Chronicles trilogy.
I will say that this book impressed me a lot even though the name is really horrendous. The writing in this book is not that complex which would lend me to believe that the author’s target audience is for pg+ but I definitely wish that the author will pull more toward adult fantasy like game of thrones in future book. This book definitely had the mixture of criteria that I was looking for in a fantasy book. Sword fights, magic, love story, and good humor what more could you ask. You guys definitely have to read it, it is quick read but a sick one. I literely could not put the book down at the last 25%. Can’t wait for the next one! I will have to give a big fat rating of 4/5!
